Job Description
 
Performs professional work coordinating the delivery of employment readiness training and career exploration programming activities to prepare youth ages fifteen through twenty five (15-25) for employment opportunities. An employee assigned to this classification cultivates partnerships with local businesses/organizations to place participants in paid internship/certification/employment opportunities. Responsible for recruiting program participants, providing access to support services as needed, and conducting a five (5) week employment readiness training program. Once training is complete, participants are placed in a ten (10) week paid internship within a career field of interest. Program participants are monitored for up to ninety (90) days to ensure they continue to work toward employment goals and successful completion of the internship program and assist with the transition into stable employment. An employee assigned to this classification ensures compliance with all grants, funding sources, and record keeping. The employee may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree or Technical Certificate and two (2) years of experience in responsible case management, social work, or youth development capacity, implementing programs for youth, community organization, events, and/or public affairs managementor an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Workforce development experience preferred.

Supports the daily operations of youth employment programs that provide employment readiness training, career exploration, financial literacy, including after-school and summer programming, educational support, vocational training and certification opportunities, job placement, and mentoring. To include stablishing career plans to secure employment for program participants. Ensure proper implementation of federal, state, and local grant projects including Department of Education, Department of Agriculture, Department of Children and Families, Department of Juvenile Justice, Central Florida Foundation, etc. Records progress, referrals, assessments, performance evaluations, and other notable interactions. Ensure compliance of all City policy and procedures and alignment with programmatic mission in the areas of administration, operations, programming, risk management, and grants management. Assist in the compliance of program evaluation services and data management for designated service areas/participants; to include the entry of accurate and timely performance data, monthly grant deliverables, and program quality initiatives. Ensure compliance with Florida Child Labor Laws. Evaluates program participants' progress adjusting as needed to improve outcomes. Develops and facilitates employment readiness training. Supports the implementation of strategic planning and organizational vision to assess program impact, service models, and expansion unique to various state/federally funded agency requirements simultaneously. Ensures collaborative relationships with FPR staff, school district personnel, community-based organizations, and contract service providers that positively impact program services to ensure the overall mission and vision of the department is achieved. Conducts outreach and recruitment to establish and maintain key community partnerships with local businesses and organizations. Identifies employment opportunities accessible to program participants. Performs other duties as assigned.
