Job Description
 
Performs cleaning and restoration services to the City of Orlando buildings, streets, and equipment using high-pressure hydraulic cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals. Performs painting, graffiti removal, and general maintenance work as directed. Works at various heights and on ladders at times. Position includes lifting, pushing, and pulling pressure washing equipment, water hoses, and portable water meters along sidewalks and up and down trailer ramps.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and six (6) months to one (1) year hydraulic cleaning experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required prior to employment.
 
Responsibilities

Operates high pressure hydraulic cleaning equipment for cleaning surfaces on buildings, edifices, streets, and equipment. Removes graffiti, stickers, and protein.

Drives trucks with attached equipment trailers to haul equipment.

Inspects surfaces being cleaned during cleaning process to determine when job is complete or to make adjustments as needed.

Inspects pressure cleaning equipment for damage, wear, or safety hazards. Reports issues and arranges for repairs/maintenance.

Obtains supplies required for work performance as required.

Maintains records of man-hours and supplies used on the job.

Cleans up job site at end of each shift and upon completion of job.

Performs preventative maintenance on City equipment and vehicles.

Provides support for events at night including removal of trash and banners.

May perform painting such as painting leg covers; may remove furniture for City Hall.

Assists with Christmas decorations for the City.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of error prevention techniques as they apply to hydraulic cleaning equipment.

Skilled in maneuvering equipment operating under 3,000 PSI pressure which may involve standing and walking for extended periods, pushing, and pulling.

Skilled in the operation of pressure washers.

Ability to communicate with others.

Ability to work under conditions of excessive noise and around chemicals.

Ability to determine when a job should be stopped due to damage or excessive wear and when cleaning has been completed.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs+
and push/pull up to 150 lbs+
Ability to work outside and in inclement weather conditions.
