Job Description
|
|
Performs technical work to ensure that computer lab equipment is operational. Train and instruct program participants in computer operations. Duties include, but not limited to, performing introduction to computers training, resume assistance, interviewing prep. Assist program participants in the use of computers, software and related peripherals. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Employment & Training Program Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree or equivalent and two (2) years of job placement experience; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience. Bilingual ability desired. Ability to operate a personal computer utilizing job placement related software preferred.

Assist program participants in the use of computers, software and related peripherals.
Train and instruct program participants in computer operations
Design and develop computer instructional material useful for program participants
Design, implement and administer computer training schedules
Evaluate and assess student progress as it relates to the use of computer
Coordinates schedules of job seekers in conjunction with RISE Program staff.
Uses phone, email and business etiquette to professionally handle all job seeker and employer customer service related issues and interaction.
Performs other related job duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Productivity Suite (Word, Excel, Access); Google Docs
Knowledge of internet navigation, applications and functionality
Knowledge of the community and resources available within the community
Knowledge of general teaching, training, instruction and/or facilitation
Skilled in the use of a keyboard and computer to enter and maintain data
Skilled in the use of office machines (copier, fax, phone, scanner, overhead projector)
Ability to evaluate information and discern the needs of clients with barriers to employment or other needs
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form
Ability to use independent judgement and act with initiative with little or no direction given
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with callers, job seekers and RISE Program staff
Ability to learn RISE Program policies and procedures
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to speak effectively and comprehensibly on the phone and with people in person
Ability to work individually and/or as a team
Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work under stressful conditions
