Job Description
|
|
Provides technical and administrative support to the Employment & Training Program office. Assists the Employment & Training Program’s management in the successful implementation and accomplishment of the City of Orlando’s RISE Program goals and objectives. Responsibilities include matching job seekers to open employment opportunities; contacting employers to conduct outreach and follow-up; and documenting all job placements, referrals, services, and follow-up activities in the RISE Access database and file system. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Employment & Training Program Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Business or related field and at least six (6) months of specialized experience performing duties similar to responding to inquiries regarding employment, training, diversity issues, and program compliance; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Productivity Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint). Bilingual ability desired. Workforce development experience preferred.

Performs intake and screening of all RISE Program registrants for employment, training and supportive services; maintain appointment and intake log.
Provide RISE Program partners support with all systems, policies and procedures.
Compiles data, conducts research, and obtains pertinent material for staff, prepares routine reports using specialized RISE Access Database.
Performs the lead data entry role for the RISE Access Database; maintenance, updating and revising existing records in the database.
Establishes and maintains a comprehensive filing system, and maintains employment applications, job orders and other pertinent RISE Program records.
Relieves RISE Program Management of administrative detail, assist with the preparation and submittal of all RISE Program account payable deliverables utilizing WORKDAY system.
Performs a variety of administrative support work in support of office operations including typing, filing, responding to request for information and inquiries regarding the RISE Program.
Assignments are usually performed with general instructions, guidance and minimal supervision.
Other duties as assigned by Employment & Training Program Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of standard office methods and procedures
Knowledge of City of Orlando’s organization, policies and procedures
Skilled in the operation of personal computer / laptop
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively use the internet to communicate with constituent groups, community partners and program participants
Ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects
Ability to present program information in a public forum
Ability to learn and apply basic policies, procedures and regulations related to the City of Orlando’s Employment & Training Program (RISE)
Ability to conduct research, compile data, and prepare routine reports and memos
Ability to work independently, plan, organize and meet deadlines
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive material
Ability to take initiative and work independently within guidelines as necessary
Ability to listen attentively and understand information
Ability to provide excellent public service
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the general public
