Job Description
 
Performs professional and administrative social work and supervision for the City of Orlando's Employment & Training Program. Performs professional and administrative social work and supervision of all program activities. Responsible for the coordination of social service programs and coordinates community services to identify solutions for program participants. Provides supervision for the Employment & Training Program Case Manager. Reports to the Employment & Training Program Manager. Work is performed under the supervision of the Employment & Training Program Director and reviewed through conferences, records, file reviews, reports, and results achieved.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Services, or related field and three (3) years of experience in human resources or delivering social services, including one (1) year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Bilingual ability required. Familiarity with the local job market and employers preferred. Workforce development experience preferred.
 
Responsibilities

Work with program participants and other community partners to identify necessary programs and services to facilitate successful employment and training program efforts

Oversee administrative aspects of the RISE program to meet program objectives

Analyze data to determine the effectiveness of programs

Suggest and implement improvements to programs and services

Plan and manage outreach activities for increased awareness of programs

Identify service needs of at-risk program participants

Conduct home visits to participants to engage them to attain needed services

Assist participants in obtaining services by making referrals

Supervise and maintain good professional relationship with Employment & Training Case Management Specialist

Oversee quality of care for participants contacting them by phone, letter and conducting home visits to insure case progress and success


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of customer service techniques, motivational training, recruitment techniques, and career counseling

Knowledge of community resources and familiarity with the community

Skilled in organizational management, and supervisory techniques

Skilled in both oral and written communication

Skilled in interpersonal relations and problem-solving

Skilled in public speaking, listening and writing

Skilled in use of computer, including Microsoft Business Applications

Ability to effectively work with people in crisis and coordinate and track delivery of direct services

Ability to commit to building and expanding community partnerships and relationships

Ability to relate to diverse issues, people, and institutions
