Job Description
 
Performs professional, technical, and supervisory work at an advanced level involving the responsibility for general management and oversight of the City’s grant management function for externally funded grants and other types of financial assistance. Work requires considerable independent professional judgment and initiative in resolving problems based on a comprehensive knowledge of citywide policies and various grant program regulations. Work is performed under the supervision of the Children and Education Program Manager. This position may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field and three (3) years of academic program coordination or teaching experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Must pass a criminal background check. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required. Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Education, or related field desired.
 
Responsibilities

Reads and understands the grant terms and reports requirements for all grants awarded to the Families, Parks, and Recreation (FPR) Department. Summarizes key reporting dates and responsibilities for each grant and communicate information required to the division/s responsible for obtaining the data. Works closely with the Fiscal Division to monitor spending on grant projects to ensure that all expenditures are allowed under the grant and are aligned with the grant budget. Establishes and maintains a naming convention and electronic filing system for all documents to be submitted on the correct internal drive to be easily located and uploaded to grantors contractual electric system. Compiles and submits all documentation needed to draw down grant funds. Facilitates monthly meetings with the program managers and Fiscal Division to exchange information on spending, project timeline, and any issues/roadblocks encountered. Reports the results of the monthly project meetings to the executive team. Establishes and maintains a good working relationship with key personnel at the granting agencies. Follows and enforces all company internal controls to ensure financial integrity and grant and audit compliance, working closely with the Fiscal Division within FPR. Provides all grant related support for the annual financial and audits. Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies. Performs other duties as assigned. Supports student advocates in linking students to academic, counseling, or enrichment services . Monitors and supports Academic Team referrals, for academic support or to promote the health and safety of children or families in crisis.
