Job Description
|
|
The Venues Strategy & Support Officer performs professional work, directing and coordinating key departmental functions, including special research projects, procedural improvements and strategic communications. This position requires a proactive approach ensuring seamless execution of Project initiatives and achieving departmental goals. Work is performed under the general direction of the CVO and is evaluated based on project outcomes, reports submitted, and overall effectiveness. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors' Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field, plus five (5) years experience in managing business operations or project management with responsibility for conducting research, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of principles, practices and methods of the public assembly facilities' management.
Skilled in the use of electronic devices and work related software.
Ability to develop long-term plans and programs and to evaluate work accomplishments.
Ability to assist with the planning and organizing operations of multi-use facilities.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, City officials, professional groups, promoters, agents and the general public.
Ability to effectively manage projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Support and manage key strategic partnerships in alignment with departmental priorities.
Provide project management support for key business initiatives, including milestone tracking, key performance indicators (KPIs), and executive summaries.
Represent the CVO in management and operational meetings as needed.
Contribute to the planning and execution of departmental strategic initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness.
Assist with bid preparations and submissions for local, regional, and national events.
Conduct research and prepare reports on industry trends and developments to support strategic decision-making.
Provide logistical support for capital projects, operational planning, and venue modernization initiatives.
Assist the CVO in developing and defining departmental goals, objectives, and measurable KPIs.
Facilitate cross-department collaboration by disseminating relevant information and aligning efforts across Venues.
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and communication within the organization.
Maintain organized records of projects, meetings, and key initiatives to ensure seamless follow-up and execution.
Develop and maintain tracking systems for performance metrics, project timelines, and reporting requirements.
Prepare staff reports, executive briefings, and other critical documentation to support departmental decision-making.
Assist in the preparation of City Council agenda items, presentations, and public-facing reports.
Performs other duties as assigned.
