Job Description
 

Performs professional and administrative work for the Orlando Venues Department. Responsible for coordinating and supervising event preparedness and assisting the Manager in overseeing facility operations and maintenance. Ensures the maintenance, operations, and housekeeping tasks of the venue are completed prior to, during, and after an event. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Stadium Operations Manager. Performance is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through conferences, direct observation, and results obtained. Required to work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Required to work outdoors with exposure to the elements and excessive noise.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, Hotel Management, Engineering, Facility Management, or related field and two (2) years experience in venue and/or event operations, to include one (1) year in a lead or supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Forklift experience with OSHA certification required.

Additional Qualifications for Promotion (Venues Operations Coordinator I to II):

Four (4) years experience in venue or event operations, including three (3) years supervisory experience. Promotions are not to be considered an automatic function of longevity and are subject to the review and authorization of the Supervisor. The employee’s last performance review must have resulted in an overall rating of Meets standards or better with no factor rating of less than meets.

 
Responsibilities
 
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

Plans, coordinates, organizes, and supervises event operations including event setup, conversions, tear
down, and facility preparedness. 

Coordinates, schedules, supervises, trains, and evaluates the work of the event operations team. The
team includes seasonal and contractor service providers staff.

Develop and update comprehensive management reports or manuals with a focus on preventative
maintenance plans, facility equipment reports, and event conversion reports.

Assist with coordinating and procuring operational equipment and deliverables. 

Maintains equipment and supply inventory; items include administrative supplies, housekeeping stock,
production and staging equipment, vehicles, and lifts.

Assist with developing, implementing, and facilitating a computerized maintenance management software program (CMMS).

Collaborate with the facility operations team and create a preventive maintenance program for stadium assets and safety programs. 

Manage the work order process.

Assist with managing stadium vendor contracts and accounts payables.

Act as Manager on Duty for the department as assigned.

Performs other related duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of effective customer service practices, consumer and public events, event management, and public facility operations and maintenance.

Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, audio/visual, and life safety systems.

Knowledge of logistical and set-up requirements of sports and various other events.

Knowledge of ground and landscape maintenance practices and procedures.

Effective organizational and time management skills.

Excellent strategic planning and problem-solving skills.

Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

Ability to respond to difficult and stressful situations in an efficient, effective, and positive manner.

Ability to operate a computer and basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
