Job Description
 
Responsible for managing the conversion laborers and ensuring calendar and conversion event requirements are met and exceeded for a multi-purpose sports and entertainment facility. Manages all aspects of the conversion process in preparation for events, including the setup and disassembly of basketball flooring, hockey systems, retractable seating, indoor football turf, meeting rooms, concourse setup, dressing rooms, portable chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other event related furnishing and equipment. Work is performed under the supervision of the Facility Manager. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation. Required to work irregular and extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Work includes exposure to high noise levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and (4) years experience in the management of venue event conversion, two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory role; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Forklift operation certification desired. Manlift operation experience desired.

Manages conversion leads and labor crews in accordance with the policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsible for training, scheduling, and disciplining of crew labor.

Handles inquiries, resolves issues, address labor relations issues and has decision making responsibilities as it relates to managing all provided labor.

Trains crew laborers on standard operating procedures and ensures compliance.

Inspires, mentors and develops crew laborers to deliver world class service in all aspects of the operation that delight and exceed expectations of our guests, clients and partners.

Provides oversight and assist Facility Manager, Operations Manager, and Operations Supervisor with all events requirements.

Maintains department and crew laborers records and reports.

Interfaces with all departments to ensure conversion requirements are met or exceeded in regards to conversion requests.

Manages all aspects of conversion process in preparation for events. Including setting up and tear down of basketball flooring, hockey systems, retractable seating, portable chairs, barricades, staging, tables and other furnishing and equipment.

Represents the conversions labor services team in meetings, strategy sessions, goal-setting, or budgetary meetings.

Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work process and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.

Reviews and approves incident and damage reports related to conversion activities.

Manages third party labor services vendors to ensure service level agreements are being met and goals achieved.

Maintains a safe work environment, ensuring staff is well informed on event schedule and work orders.

Reports irregularities, discrepancies, damage, and loss of property and safety concerns promptly following reporting procedures.

Manages conversion activities for event transitioning, such as load-in, load-out for events, as well as methods and techniques in the movement of retractable seating, furniture, fixtures, and all event related relevant equipment.

Performs other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of and compliance with Federal and State OSHA regulations, safety practices, including first aid and all applicable safety standards for public facilities.

Knowledge of ice installation and maintenance, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Knowledge of HVAC, lighting, audio visual, computer energy management systems and related codes and regulations for each.

Knowledge of safety requirements, public facility/venue standards, building systems and infrastructure.

Skilled in the use of heavy equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, tug, boom lift, bobcat etc. with precision and accuracy.

Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, colleagues, promotors, guests and visitors.

Ability to simultaneously manage a high level of detail across multiple projects.

Ability to multitask and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
