Job Description
|
|
The primary responsibilities for this position include providing direct assistance to the Director and Assistant Director of City of Orlando’s Office of Sustainability, Resilience, & Future Ready in the management of all office staff and providing leadership toward the development, management, implementation, outreach, monitoring, iterating and evolving, and reporting of initiatives designed to advance the city’s goals, as specified in the Municipal Sustainability Operations and Community Sustainability Action Plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Sustainability, or Business Administration or equivalent and four (4) years experience in sustainability; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required.

Manages OSR staff and associated hiring processes.
Facilitates strategic planning and goal setting for respective focus areas. Facilitates stakeholder engagement and partnerships
Supports data collection and analysis efforts and reports on sustainability progress and metrics to various audiences, including internal stakeholders, external partners, and executive leadership and elected officials.
Develops and manages city policies that support advancement of sustainability goals. Leads policy research and development of ordinance language, and coordinates stewardship process. Upon passage, responsible for managing directly or monitoring and reporting on compliance
Leads strategic communications, community engagement and outreach, including development of copy, creative direction, planning and leading events of various formats, and developing activities and materials for effective education.
Leads grant management and reporting and supports budget management.
Briefs leadership and elected officials on progress and key programs and opportunities.
Performs other duties as assigned
