Job Description
|
|
Performs supervisory and limited administrative work coordinating the maintenance, rentals, and usage of the Administration building, baseball fields, park pavilions, and fleet for the Families, Parks, and Recreation (FPR) Department. Responsible for the coordination and oversight of scheduling rentals for baseball fields, park pavilions, and the FPR Administration building, building maintenance, and control of FPR fleet vehicles. Supervises, trains, and evaluates subordinate staff. Work is performed independently. Performance is reviewed by the Recreation Division Manager through meetings, reports submitted, observation, and results obtained. May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must have the ability to work under extreme heat and weather.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and two (2) years of general experience in repair or handy-work, one (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Commercial Driver's License desired.

Responsibilities

Coordinates, plans, and schedules general maintenance, major repairs, remodeling, and construction projects for the administrative building and fleet.
Maintains accurate records of building, ball fields, pavilion, and fleet maintenance, rental, usage, and activities.
Maintains a schedule of fleet maintenance and schedules service when needed.
Supervises evaluates and trains the work and performance of subordinate employees.
Routinely inspect building mechanical systems/equipment to ensure proper performance and maintenance.
Routinely inspect common areas to ensure they are maintained clean and in an aesthetically appealing condition.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
Inspects vehicles upon pick up and return to holding lot. Inspects tools, vehicles, and equipment to ensure they're serviced and properly maintained
(e.g. greasing, lubricating, cleaning, checking fluid levels, etc.).
Creates weekly/monthly reports.
Purchases and monitors supply expenditures.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of City policies and procedures.
Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety rules and regulations related to facility maintenance operations.
Skilled in the use of a computer and Microsoft programs.
Ability to supervise, plan, and evaluate the work of subordinate employees.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
Ability to walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to safely operate a vehicle
Ability to work under in-climate weather and during extreme heat.
