Job Description
 
Performs professional-level work involving planning, directing, and coordinating data management and reporting for the Division. Is responsible for developing collection methods and tracking, analyzing, and reporting on data related to any constitutional policing and/or community trust and equity related projects. Collaborates with the City of Orlando’s IT Department to enable tracking mechanisms; manages data for procedural justice programs; and manages the Department’s open data initiative. Work is performed under the direction of the Office of Constitutional Policing Executive Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or related field and three (3) years experience reporting/analyzing data using Structured Query Language (SQL) systems with two (2) years lead work experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Driver's License from any state required. Valid Florida Driver's License required within thirty (30) days of hire. Must pass police background investigation which includes polygraph examination. Prior experience with law enforcement CAD systems and Crime Analysis experience a plus.

Develops collection methods including tracking, analyzing, and reporting on data related to any of the policy and data collection unit, community trust, and equity related projects.

Prepares, maintains, and updates graphic matrix illustrations and other visual aids depicting the structure and interconnections of data.

Prepares reports describing data trends.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of law enforcement records management software.

Knowledge of law enforcement CAD systems.

Knowledge of principles of and developments in data analysis methods, techniques, and data sources.

Knowledge of the principles of law enforcement administration.

Knowledge of research methodology, statistical interpretation, and methods of report presentation.

Knowledge of criminological theory and practices.

Skilled in the use of computers and Microsoft Office software.

Ability to conduct studies and to analyze and formulate recommendations based upon such studies.

Ability to interpret and analyze law enforcement related data.

Ability to coordinate the activities of coworkers.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Ability to operate personal computers.

Ability to work with numbers and to understand statistical concepts.

Ability to organize, communicate, and present clear, concise, and factual oral and written reports and recommendations.

Ability to extract and analyze information, perform complex analytical studies, formulate valid conclusions, and develop recommendations based on those studies.
