Job Description
 
Performs skilled work involving televised examination of sewer lines. Employees assigned to this classification operate TV trucks, cameras, and related equipment. Work is performed under the direct supervision of a field supervisor. Performance is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED; two (2) years of experience in the operation of TV camera trucks, sewer line inspection, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Ability to pass an annual respirator physical; no facial hair allowed between the face and respirator sealing surface. Valid Florida Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement required. Must obtain and maintain a security clearance and GOAA ID badge within ninety (90) days of hire date. Home phone or cell phone is required.
 
Responsibilities
 
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

Operates mobile television and chemical sealing units to conduct internal sewer line inspections and to seal defects, thereby preventing water infiltration.

Places traffic cones and other barricades at job sites; removes manhole covers and examines manhole to determine proper set-up procedure.

Locates line sections to be inspected using map; determines set up procedures; sets up winches, determines skid size, and installs proper skid; plugs line, if necessary; threads cable through sewer lines; and places camera inside manhole to televise sewer line.

Operates and adjusts camera controls to obtain optimum clarity and contrast.

Prepares description of each sewer defect and records pertinent data.

Determines supplies necessary for the daily operation of the TV truck and equipment; assists with mixing chemicals.

Prepares packer; connects necessary cables to packer operates sealing unit to release sealing compound.

Cleans and stores camera and equipment on van truck after use.

May be required to enter manholes and service lines to perform inspections and line maintenance.

Coordinates the Hi-Vac Crew to perform line cleaning and manhole maintenance per CCTV Crew following the CCTV Inspection.

Occasionally performs public assistance for residents who might approach the work-site with concerns.

Changes sewer to storm lines.

Performs other duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of camera and equipment necessary for operation.

Knowledge of sewer line televising and sealing techniques.

General knowledge of sewer maintenance.

Skilled in the operation of mobile television and chemical sealing equipment.

Ability to maintain equipment.

Ability to cooperate well with other crew members.

Ability to climb and descend into manholes; work in confined areas; and being exposed to noxious odors, raw sewage, insects, extreme weather conditions, and excessive noise levels.

Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.

Ability to record observations and complete reports.

Ability to lift heavy man hole covers/lids and cables.

Ability to operate power tools and hand tools.
