Job Description

|
LITTER CREW: Performs lead, unskilled, and semi-skilled manual work. Removes litter, recycling material, and any other kind of debris from street rights-of-way, ditches, canals, lakes and basins, or assigned areas. Provides training in the general maintenance, use, and safety of handheld equipment and all-terrain vehicles (ATV). Plans and coordinates daily tasks of seasonal employees. Work is performed under the direction of the Street Right-Of-Way Supervisor and is reviewed while in progress, through direct observation, and upon completion.
KEEP ORLANDO BEAUTIFUL: Performs lead, unskilled, and semi-skilled manual work for Keep Orlando Beautiful program events. Participates in various community events delivering supplies, setting up and taking down equipment, picking up litter, recycling, planting, painting, and any other duties to complete projects. Provides program volunteers and seasonal employees' direction, assigns tasks, and coordinates work projects. Work is performed under the direction of the Keep Orlando Beautiful Coordinator and work is reviewed while in progress, through direct observation, and upon completion.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and one (1) year of work experience in a progressively responsible lead worker capacity and six (6) months of experience in the use of an ATV; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Computer operation and software skills required to retrieve and closeout work requests, obtain and respond to email communication, etc. Valid Florida Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

Performs routine maintenance and servicing on vehicles and motorized equipment by checking fluid levels and adding gasoline, oil, water, coolants, etc.; greases and lubricates pumps, valves; checks and services tires and batteries.
LITTER CREW (LC): Plans, assign daily tasks, and inspects work to ensure completion.
LC: Participates in the removal of litter, recycling material, and any other kind of debris from street rights-of-ways, ditches, canals, lakes and basins, or assigned area.
LC: Trains the crew in the general maintenance, use, and safety of handheld equipment and ATV’s.
LC: Delivers supplies; loads and unloads truck of tools, materials, and/or debris collected at sites.
LC: May operate pickup truck, ATV, and handheld equipment.
LC: Services and performs minor maintenance such as greasing, lubricating, and cleaning of tools and equipment; checks fluid levels on equipment; and services batteries.
LC: Cleans vehicles, equipment, and tools washing down surfaces using pressure cleaners; replenishes supplies; and performs routine maintenance.
LC: Documents the amount of litter collected at a work site.
LC: Retrieves work orders, emails, and corresponds via a computer.
LC: Takes pictures; logs any discrepancies with City phone; and notifies supervisor.
KEEP ORLANDO BEAUTIFUL (KOB): Delivers supplies; sets up and takes down equipment; picks up litter; recycles material; plants; paints; and performs other duties to complete projects.
KOB: Assists with Graffiti Prevention and Removal Program; answers and responds to constituents’ graffiti complaints via the program hotline calls; and retrieves and responds to online requests via email.
KOB: Completes field review and documents graffiti using a cell phone to upload incidents into Graffiti Tracker application.
KOB: Performs light graffiti removal on public property or assigns graffiti removal to internal or external agencies depending on the location and size of the graffiti.
KOB: Participates in various community events to represent and educate on Keep Orlando Beautiful programs.
KOB: Sets up, arranges, and breaks down tables, chairs, and equipment as instructed; cleans and stores materials; and tracks volunteer events and equipment usage.
KOB: Operates pickup truck and related equipment.
KOB: Loads and unloads trucks of tools, materials, and/or debris collected at sites.
Performs other duties as assigned.
