Job Description
|
|
Performs professional and administrative work for the Police Department creating eLearning courses on Constitutional Policing. Primary duties include assisting subject matter experts on developing and maintaining lesson plans, designing and developing eLearning content, and maintaining the content in the learning management system. Work is performed under the supervision of the Constitutional Policing & Policy Administrator and reviewed on a regular basis through discussion.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, or Psychology with coursework in learning theory, assessments, adult development, and learning; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that includes a minimum of two (2) years with curriculum development, instructional design, lesson plan maintenance, and eLearning content design and development. A valid Florida Driver's License is required. Must pass police background investigation, which includes polygraph examination.

Designs and develops training courses in the Learning Management System (LMS) to support Constitutional Policing for instructor led and computer-based training.
Works closely with subject matter experts to develop lesson plans using the appropriate learning theory framework to develop learning objectives.
Develops and validates assessments to accurately measure the extent to which learning objectives are met.
Generates Learning Management System (LMS) reports describing course completion data trends.
Develops various types of eLearning content for use in courses and assessments using Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate.
Captures and produces audio and video for use in eLearning content.
Edits and modifies images for use in eLearning content.
Test and upload sharable content objects (SCOs) for use on the Learning Management System (LMS).
Creates groups and distributes eLearning content to various sworn member groups within the LMS.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the Instructional theories and assessments.
Knowledge of E-Learning content development.
Knowledge of Department policies and procedures.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft PowerPoint, MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Articulate Storyline.
Skilled in the capture and production of video and audio media and use of image production software.
Ability to create courses within a Learning Management System (LMS).
Ability to work with subject matter experts to develop complete courses for online and live face-to-face delivery.
Ability to develop and apply assessment validation criteria.
Ability to create graphics and modify images in graphic design software.
Ability to produce audio and video files for use in eLearning packages.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to handle multiple assignments.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive material.
