Job Description
|
|
Performs professional and administrative work in the Human Resources Department. Responsible for identifying and monitoring the training needs of the organization and designing, planning, and implementing such training programs, policies, and procedures to fulfill such needs. Work is performed under the supervision of the Human Resources Assistant Director and reviewed through observation, reports, conferences, and results obtained.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, or Behavioral Science and two (2) years professional experience in Human Resources with responsiblity for training and employee services; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Two (2) or more years supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversees the new employment training sessions.
Coordinates the development and delivery of training programs and professional development initiatives. Includes the coordination of the calendar of all city-wide training and development sessions. Communicates schedule and updates with all employees.
Supporting labor relations and the attorney’s office with developing and facilitating training for employees, including those represented under various Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Reviewing existing training programs; suggesting enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of the organization.
Maintains knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization.
Contracts vendors and third-party organizations to provide and deliver employee training.
Oversees the training budget, including estimating costs, monitoring expenses, processing training-related invoices, and paying for credit card charges related to training expenditures such as supplies and equipment.
Manages the employee educational reimbursement program and provide support or guidance as needed following city policy and/or collective bargaining agreements.
Manages the City's Learning Management System (Workday Learning), providing updates and enhancements as needed to meet the City's needs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
