Job Description
|
|
Performs professional work in the Employment & Recruitment Section to support the City of Orlando's recruiting efforts. Overall duties include identifying and implementing effective recruiting and sourcing strategies, partnering with local colleges, universities, trade schools, and other organizations to promote open positions and benefits provided by the City, using innovative strategies to find quality candidates to fill open positions, posting open positions, as well as reviewing, screening, and ranking applications, and assisting applicants and hiring managers throughout the recruitment and selection process. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Employment and Testing Manager. Work is reviewed through observations, reports, conferences, and results obtained.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field and two (2) years professional human resources generalist experience, preferably in employee recruiting or staffing; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Experience successfully using recruiting tools and resources preferred.

Identifies and implements effective recruiting and sourcing strategies.
Manages the Human Resources social media pages and relationships with industry job boards.
Partners with local colleges, universities, trade schools, and other organizations to promote open positions, benefits provided by the City, etc.
Attends and participates in career fairs and recruiting sessions.
Prepares and presents reports to capture trends in the recruitment process and identify opportunities.
Utilizes knowledge of multiple recruiting sources and executes innovative strategies to find quality candidates.
Posts open positions, as well as reviews, screens, and ranks applications, and counsels applicants and hiring managers.
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Considerable knowledge of successful recruitment strategies.
Considerable knowledge of the goals and objectives, principles and practices of modern public personnel administration.
Knowledge of the structure, goals and objectives, programs and activities of municipal government.
Knowledge of EEO guidelines.
Knowledge of interviewing/selection techniques and the ability to effectively conduct group and individual interviews.
Ability to access and update social media pages and job boards.
Ability to effectively manipulate recruitment/sourcing websites and/or software.
Ability to conduct research, gather and organize data, analyze data, and formulate intelligible recommendations.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental officials, other employees, representatives
of other agencies, employment applicants, and the general public.
Ability to operate a personal computer.
