Job Description
|
|
Performs administrative and supervisory work managing the facilities operations and engineering sections of the Facilities Management Division in the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and PM of buildings and associated equipment. Oversees staff and contractors that install, inspect, repair, and maintain building systems, equipment, and renovation activities coordinated by the engineering section. Is responsible for the development and implementation of operating budgets, contract administration, operations, and coordination of all business aspects of the Facilities Management Division. Work is performed under the supervision of the Facilities Division Manager. Performance is reviewed for achievement of planned objectives through conferences, reports submitted, and results obtained.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field and a minimum of five (5) years management and supervisory experience, to include three (3) years experience in construction and trades-related fields; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience managing operations for major public facilities. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Computer proficiency required. Must pass police background investigation. Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential desired. Master’s Degree in Business or Public Administration preferred.

Manages the day-to-day operations including staffing and supervising daily facilities and engineering section operations.
Monitors key performance indicators of Facilities operations and Engineering Section routinely seeking efficiency opportunities
Ensures all information provided for input into ARCHIBUS after work effort is completed and accurately documents all labor/materials costs.
Ensures accuracy and completeness of work performed and identifies corrective action as needed.
Monitors the daily/weekly input of work hours to ensure that established billing percentage targets are maintained or exceeded.
Provides intensive customer service assistance.
Teaches, trains, and processes all new employees.
Coordinates with other departments to facilitate workflow.
Coordinates workflow and assigns work as necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Is responsible for the development and implementation of operating budgets, contract administration, operations, and coordination of all business aspects of the Facilities Management Division.
Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented per City policy.
Supports staff results by communicating job expectations and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Helps to coach, counsel, and discipline employees.
Assists in development and implementation of the fiscal year comprehensive maintenance plan that is both corrective and preventive for the upkeep of all facilities major equipment like HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and structural along with specialized equipment (i.e., UPS, backup battery systems, fire alarm and security systems
Approves the project scope or work and specifications; assigns City contractors to perform maintenance and repair service using established City of Orlando procedures.
Mentors/trains assigned participant employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.
