Job Description
|
|
Performs professional, administrative, and technical work related to designing, building, implementing, and maintaining the platforms used to manage End User Devices (EUD). These platforms are used to manage all EUDs within the enterprise remotely. This position is responsible for the maintenance of these essential systems, which may include assessing performance, completing regular maintenance, diagnosing issues, and repairing problems. The incumbent oversees and assists in the overall maintenance of the application data and database landscape by establishing best practices and communicating and implementing application data policies and procedures that drive improved efficiency, productivity, and security. This position works in a team environment, as well as autonomously, to resolve problems. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Network Support Manager and is subject to periodic review and evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field and five (5) years of technical IT experience, network management and system administration experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience with Microsoft Active Directory (AD), storage area networks (SAN), server virtualization platforms, backup and restore solutions, Microsoft Server, Linux Server, and server patching required.
Additional Qualifications for Promotion:
Promotions are not to be considered an automatic function of longevity and are subject to the review and authorization of the Supervisor. The employee’s last performance review must have resulted in an overall rating of Meets standards or better with no factor rating of less than meets.

Responsibilities

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

Maintains EUD management platforms and all associated systems including software, hardware and applications
Maintains Microsoft and Apple EUDs, deploying new applications, updating virus protection software, implementing data security systems
Creates, tests, troubleshoots, manages and deploys application packages to EUDs
Creates, tests, troubleshoots, manages and deploys Group Policy Objects (GPO) to EUDs
Collaborates with third-party support services and service providers to ensure systems and EUDs are operating optimally
Performs other related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of data management and database technology
Knowledge of business unit vision and needs
Knowledge of specific constructs (tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures) of a database
Knowledge of IP networking concepts including but not limited to routing, switching, wireless (WiFi) and firewalls
Skilled in interpersonal, verbal and written communication required to effectively communicate data, database and research information with a variety of business, management, and technical stakeholders
Ability to think independently process and fully administrator IP networks including routing and switching
