Job Description
 
Performs professional and managerial work in the Orlando Venues Event Department. Responsible for the oversight of all event operational matters for meetings, special events, sporting events, and concerts assigned. Responsible for creating and fostering an efficient, productive, and consistent working relationship among all departments to ensure operational excellence. Work is performed under the direction of the Venues Guest Experience Division Manager. Performance is reviewed for achievement of planned objectives through conferences, reports submitted, and evaluation of results achieved. Required to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Organizational Leadership, Communications, Business Administration, or related field and minimum of five (5) years managerial guest or event services experience in a stadium or arena; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, AutoCAD, and event booking computer software desired.
 
Responsibilities

Assumes management responsibility for all services and activities of the events department including the planning and directing of all venue events. This includes oversight of event managers and event support within the Guest Experience Division

Plans, organizes, and assigns all work assignments for event managers and event services department personnel

Reviews and approves all cost estimates

Conducts planning, staff, and operational meetings as required ensuring smooth coordination of activities

Functions as the point of contact for Booking and Revenue Department to build and approval building layouts and event designs

Assists in the development of all guest services programs and materials for all building partners and Venues

Oversees event department internship program and provides special projects for professional development

Maintains a strong relationship with all departments to support operations and goals to expedite the resolution of any problems that may arise through the general operations of each venue

Serves as the primary event manager for events at either the stadium or the arena, as needed

Supports implementation and development of the employee recognition program at on behalf of the Venues

Performs other duties as assigned.

 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of method to determine, implement and evaluate successful approaches to event planningKnowledge of Event Services leadership and guidance techniques to benefit all employees, including Event Staff, Parking, Security, Guest Relations and Janitorial employees, related to guest inquiries, objections, complaints, and special needs during events.

Knowledge of communication techniques used to instruct and motivate staff through year-round and dissemination of information.

Skilled in various types of guest services interactions (i+e+
