Job Description

|
Performs administrative and supervisory work coordinating the development and execution of fundraising and marketing plans for the Family Parks and Recreation Department. Employee is responsible for maintaining relationships with government, foundations, and individual partners. Supervises development staff to ensure all goals and objectives are met. Work is performed under the direction of the Children’s Affairs Division Manager and work is reviewed through meetings, observations, and results achieved.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or related field and two (2) years experience in nonprofit, development, or public relations field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The individual is expected to be experienced in nonprofit fund development with demonstrated success in cultivating individual donors, corporate sponsorship, and foundation grants. Supervisor, training, and budget experience required. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Must pass a criminal background check.

Supervises, assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of assigned staff to ensure all goals and objectives are met.
Raises funds from corporations, foundations, individuals, and government agencies through the development and implantation of a fundraising strategy to support the Department’s goals, objectives, and activities and to secure financial support from various sources; assists in the planning and execution of fundraising events throughout the year to enhance the organization's public profile and to raise revenue.
Supervises and coordinates internal processes for tracking donors, prospects, sponsors, and funding, including maintaining accurate records of relationships, deadlines, and funding requirements and ensuring compliance with applicable reporting guidelines.
Manages external relations, social media, and development projects in coordination with Department administrative team, City communications staff, and various non-profit boards held under the City.
Ensures that marketing and fund development are carried out in keeping with the City’s’ values, mission, and plans; assists in developing and executing marketing and media strategies to promote the organization's goals, services, and events.
Develops and implements comprehensive social media strategies to enhance brand visibility, engagement, and audience growth across all relevant platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
Coordinates and updates key community partners, stakeholders, corporate donors, and sponsors via tailored internal and external communications, scheduling, tracking, and planning in the Salesforce data system; tracks all development functions including donor relations, funding, and deliverables, etc.
Maintains contact list and assists with monitoring agreements entering renewal or expiration period to ensure deliverable and alignment occur with agreement.
Works with Department administrative team and communications team members to manage projects from start to completion.
Ensures projects stays on schedule and deliverables are received on time.
Pulls relevant data and reports that track the impact of external affairs efforts, activities, and outcomes to achieve KPI; assists in managing the development data system and ensuring compliance with reporting guidelines.
Travels to off-site meetings, training, and events.
Supports the recruitment and engagement of the Board of Directors by assisting in the implementation of board committees, member recruitment strategies, and strategic plans. Maintains regular communication with board members and facilitates their involvement in agency goals, events, and programs.
Manages the development and engagement of a proactive and high performing All-Stars Leadership Council (ALC). Maintains regular communication with ALC members and facilitates their involvement in agency goals, events, and programs.
Assists in scheduling, preparing for, and facilitating ASAS Board of Directors meetings, ensuring timely distribution of agendas and coordination with the board chairman. Supports the solicitation and stewardship of major sponsors and donors in coordination with the ASAS Board of Directors. Fosters collaboration with ASAS colleagues at the state and national levels on shared initiatives and resource sharing.
Collaborates with internal teams to gather content and information for social media posts, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and timeliness. Manages the organization's website content, including updating text, images, and multimedia elements to ensure accuracy, relevance, and freshness.
Manages the organization's social media accounts, including content planning, scheduling, posting, and monitoring, while ensuring consistency in messaging and adherence to brand guidelines. Monitors social media channels for relevant conversations, trends, and user interactions and responds promptly to comments, messages, and inquiries in a professional and engaging manner.
Supports government affairs activities, including state funding proposals, relations with elected officials, and advocacy efforts. Serves as a liaison to key stakeholders, including local nonprofits, government agencies, foundations, corporate sponsors, and community partners.
Assists in recruiting and managing development staff and volunteers, providing leadership and training as needed.
