Job Description
 
Performs responsible security work for the Orlando Venues facilities. Exercises discretion and diplomacy while ensuring compliance with security procedures. Primary responsibilities include protecting facilities and occupants from theft, potential hazards, and criminal acts. Work is performed under general supervision. Performance is reviewed through evaluation of surveillance reports, direct observation, discussions with management and patrons, and results obtained. Required to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and two (2) years security or law enforcement experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Must pass background investigation which includes polygraph. CPR Certification and First Aid Card desired.
 
Responsibilities
 
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

Patrols facilities and adjacent grounds via foot and vehicle; performs frequent inspections to ensure theft, vandalism, and safety hazards are prevented.

Monitors the ingress and egress activities at the main security office; authorizes admittance to facility by issuing badges to employees and visitors; uses additional established security methods to ensure control of building security; and operates closed circuit television monitoring equipment.

Monitors fire and various alarm systems; initiates appropriate actions in accordance with established procedures; and operates base radio station to receive and transmit information to other security, Police, and Fire personnel.

Provides general information to visitors as requested.

Completes surveillance logs, daily activity logs, and incident reports and submits to supervisor for review.

Asks questions of persons involved in suspicious activity; explains policies; solicits voluntary compliance; and requests assistance of supervisor or sworn officer as needed.

Receives, stores, and releases lost and found items in accordance with departmental policy.

May assist with crowd control during events.

May perform street closures.

May transport employees/staff in a City vehicle.

May monitor and secure vehicles that enter Gold Lot, Magic VIP Blue Lot, and the Magic Private garage near practice courts.

May monitor and assist with Lobby Guard (check in and out system); verifies/grants visitors and vendors permission to enter and exit the building.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of safety and security practices and procedures.

Knowledge of basic life saving techniques (CPR and first aid).

Ability to operate patrol vehicles and related security equipment.
