Job Description
|
|
Performs clerical and paraprofessional work relating to Grafitti Prevention and Removal within the Keep Orlando Beautiful (KOB) program. Primary duties include compiling reports and coordinating removal; educating and reaching out to the public regarding prevention tools in the area of litter, graffiti, and waste reduction practices; increasing the quality of recycling and delivering the KOB message; positively representing the City of Orlando; and assisting with volunteer efforts. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Keep Orlando Beautiful Coordinator and in accordance with general instructions and/or established guidelines. Work hours may be flexed; regular hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. with several Saturdays required depending on the time of year, as well as some evening hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and one (1) year experience in community outreach or services; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Drivers License required. Must possess computer operation and software skills required to retrieve and closeout work assignments, obtain and respond to email communication, etc.

Coordinates outreach and education for the Graffiti Prevention and Removal Program administered by Keep Orlando Beautiful (KOB).
Works closely with residents, business owners, outside programs and internal programs including OPD in regards to preventing graffiti.
Assists with all other programs in the area of litter prevention, waste reduction, recycling and beautification efforts.
Assists with set up and leading of community volunteer events.
Represents KOB and the City at functions and fairs.
Assists the Program Coordinator with all other programs as needed. KOB is constantly developing programs or reaching out in order to meet its own program goals and that of the Green Works program.
Receives reports of graffiti either through the online form or hotline.
Locates reported graffiti. Contacts the person who reported the graffiti if it is not clear. Looks up the location online to determine if it is located in the City or not, determines the surface and locates the graffiti.
Documents the graffiti using Graffiti Tracker.
Consults the victim of graffiti and/or assigns to the appropriate internal or external agency/program for removal.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of English composition and grammar.
Knowledge of effective supervisory techniques may be required when assisting with volunteers events.
Skilled in written communication and general math.
Skilled in the organization of work assignments.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with governmental organizations, neighborhood groups, fraternal institutions, other City employees, officials, and the general public.
Ability to operate personal computer and various office equipment.
Ability to sit and operate a personal computer for extended periods of time.
Ability to perform physical work in extreme weather.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work with the public.
