Job Description
|
|
Performs customer service and semi-skilled manual work. Duties include handling citizen complaints regarding work orders, overseeing day-to-day operations of grounds maintenance, and locating burial lots. Duties also include minor irrigation repairs. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Records and Cemetery Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate plus (1) year customer service experience and (1) year of general maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid Florida Driver’s License is required.

Assist the public in locating the final resting place of loved ones and answer questions as they relate to the place of burial.
Monitors outside contract work for accuracy and completeness.
Mark gravesites for burial and monument placement for contractors.
Straighten headstones.
Perform minor repairs to irrigation system.
Perform minor ground care.
Operates a 4 wheeler.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of office practices.
Knowledge of irrigation repairs
Skilled in providing active listening and speaking clearly to the public
Ability to communicate clearly.
Ability to perform burial locates
Ability to perform manual labor such as pushing, puling, and lifting.
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
Ability to walk and stand, sit bend and carry heavy loads.
Ability to operate hand tools and a 4 wheeler safely.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees and the general public.
