Job Description
 
Responsible for the operational and administrative supervision of City of Orlando-owned and operated parking facilities and surface lots. Coordinates parking for events at the KIA Center and other Downtown Orlando venues. Trains staff, ensures appropriate daily staffing levels are met, and assists with special parking projects. Responds to service calls. Maintains data, reports, and schedules. Performs other duties as assigned. Work is performed under the administrative direction of the Parking Facilities Supervisor and reviewed for results obtained through reports and conferences.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree and six (6) months related experience in parking, transportation, hospitality, operations, customer service, public service, or event coordination (public or private); or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Must pass polygraph examination. Some supervisory experience preferred. Parking Enforcement Specialist Certification preferred or must be obtained within 180 days of hire date, with coordination and at the City of Orlando's expense.
 
Responsibilities

Assist with planning and coordinates administrative and supervisory activities of parking facilities, gate attendants, and custodial personnel pertaining to all shifts involved I the operation and custodial maintenance.

Assists with the maintenance of performance measures and standards, work schedules, reviews work to ensure instructions are carried out, supervises, trains and disciplines parking facilities staff.

Directs and verifies reports of gate attendants.

Assists with the maintenance and monitoring of vendors, monitors contracts to ensure compliance, orders supplies, determines the demand and usage of parking facilities and recommends operational improvements to facilitate customer convenience and safety.

Assists with the development and administration of the parking facilities budgets and event parking budget, recommends goals and objectives, performance standards, equipment and operational budgeted personnel needs.

Monitors expenditures and revenue projections and prepares reports.

Performs other related duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of budgetary processes, cashiering and money handling.

Skill in the operating of personal computers, troubleshooting and making minor repairs to parking facilities control devices and revenue equipment.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Ability to implement division parking standards with tact and effective results.

Ability to train, supervise and evaluate the work of subordinates.

Ability to analyze administrative problems and make effective recommendations for improvement.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working prelateships with superiors, subordinates, external customers, the general public, and contractors.

Ability to stand and work for extended periods while overseeing parking facilities and parking for events.

Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
