Job Description
 

Performs supervisory and technical work involving the daily operation of the City of Orlando’s parking facilities, surface lots, access roads, and event parking, while functioning as the lead supervisor over the Parking Facilities Supervisors. Oversees the work of parking facility supervisors, assistant facility supervisors, gate attendants, and seasonal employees. Assists management in heading the Parking Operations training program for all parking facility personnel. Work is performed under the direction of the Parking Operations Manager and is reviewed through reports submitted, meetings, and results obtained. Must be available to work some weekends, as well as holidays and night shifts.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree and three (3) years experience in parking, transportation, hospitality, operations, customer service, public service, or event coordination (public or private). One (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and related work experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Must pass criminal background check and polygraph.

 
Responsibilities
 
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

Assist management in developing, maintaining, and implementing a training plan for all parking facility operations staff, including providing customer service training/coaching, performance standards and safety requirements, and software training.

Serves as lead worker over the Parking Facilities Supervisor.

Supervises the work of subordinate employees, schedules work week, approves time off and evaluates work performance, and ensures Division procedures are maintained.

Reviews and verifies cashier reports for any discrepancies, completes quality control audits on all operational staffing positions including parking facilities supervisor staff.

Maintains accurate revenue, personnel, inventory, program evaluations and attendance records.

Performs other related duties as may be assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of parking operations to include: parking gates, ticket dispensers, fee computers and counters/loop detectors.

Knowledge of security operation of working with security vendors.

Knowledge of methods, best practices, procedure and equipment pertinent to on street and off-street parking.

Knowledge of principles and best practices of financial record keeping, cashiering, report writing inventory control and PC based revenue control system.

Knowledge of rules and regulations and safety of traffic flow and parking alignment.

Knowledge of public parking principles and practices, policies and procedures, trends and methods.

Skilled in the operation and use of personal computer, Microsoft Office Suite, financial parking revenue software and parking access systems.

Ability to supervise and train personnel.

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Ability to maintain records

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with City staff, vendors, and the general public.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Ability to speak clearly

Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, to move quickly to respond to parking /traffic problems, to work long hours under adverse weather conditions, and in heavy traffic due to event parking.

Ability to work some weekends, holidays and night shift.
