Job Description
|
|
Performs paraprofessional accounting and financial record keeping work. Primarily responsible for the processing of loan requests for both the City of Orlando's defined contribution 401(k) plan and the deferred compensation 457 plan, as well as account withdrawals through the City’s outside plan administrators (ICMA and Nationwide). This includes providing payback options, verifying loan requests sent to ICMA for accuracy and completeness, and entering data changes for the City’s retirement plans offered into the Workday system. Coordinates financial educational seminars for the ICMA representatives, and participates in outreach to all City employees. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Treasurer in accordance with established procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field, experience in Microsoft Office Suite programs, and two (2) years experience in bookkeeping, administration, or related area; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Ability to operate personal computer required. Knowledge of 401(k) plan, 457 plan, and Roth IRA preferred.

Ability to enter detailed financial data in computerized system with accuracy and generate required reports.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
Ability to sit at a computer for extend periods of time.
WORK PERFORMED:

Completes 401(k) loan applications.
Reviews 457 plan loans for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Coordinates employee financial education classes: including scheduling, creating and distributing informational flyers, ordering lunch and room set up.
Participates in ICMA representative meeting scheduling and outreach programs.
Assists with collection of data and research for special projects as assigned.
Performs other related work as assigned.
