Job Description
 
Performs responsible clerical, administrative, and accounting work in the purchase, receipt, storage, issuance, and inventory of all uniforms, supplies, and equipment for the Orlando Police Department, Airport Division. Work also includes general office administrative duties, as well as courier responsibilities of sensitive evidence and information. Work is performed under general supervision.

WASTEWATER: Performs responsible clerical, administrative, and accounting work in the purchase, receipt, storage, issuance, and inventory of all uniforms, supplies, and equipment for the Wastewater Division. Other duties include operating a forklift, operating a City of Orlando vehicle (car, van, or pickup truck), and collecting orders placed with vendors located throughout the City.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate with two to three (2-3) years of inventory/warehousing experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Must pass a background check which includes a polygraph, depending on the area of assignment. Experience working with computers and maintaining inventory control records highly desired.
 
Responsibilities
 
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

Receives, stores and issues uniform items such as clothing, belts, vehicles and parts, holsters, badges, etc. to personnel; prepares individual's property records.

Prepares inventory control cards and lists for capital inventory items, radios, batteries, flashlights, etc., by posting GOAA identification number, item description, serial number and location.

Maintains an accounting log for expendable items along with their quantities, reordering when necessary.

Determines stock level and monitors inventory of supplies and equipment reordering when necessary; accepts requisitions for and orders special office items or police equipment.

Maintains accounting logs of traffic citation books and parking ticket books received from the Orlando Police Department by posting book number and to whom issued.

Picks up supplies etc., daily from Material Control, vendors.

Resolves problems with vendors on delivery dates, shipping discrepancies, quality acceptance of items ordered.

Assists GOAA Properties Department representatives with annual inventory of capital inventory items; prepares proper documentation for disposal and returns items when no longer required by Department.

Enters requisitions/receiving information and researches purchase order numbers using a Digital UT102 computer.

Delivers reports and evidence to the Orlando Police Department daily.

Ensures the good working order of equipment such as radios, batteries, vehicles, personal computers, software and programs, copier, etc.

Operates the copier.

Conducts mail runs within the Orlando International Airport facilities.

Maintains Special Notice Books, Required Reading Books, Report Books, etc.

Shuttles vehicles for repairs and maintains calibration and detailing of fleet; coordinates vehicles down time; completes daily, weekly, monthly vehicle readiness reports.

Performs other related duties as required.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Thorough knowledge of stockroom and inventory control methods and procedures.

Thorough knowledge of preventative maintenance requirements for two and four wheel drive vehicles.

Ability to maintain inventory records and prepare moderately complex reports.

Ability to collect and organize data from several sources.

Ability to perform minor work on tools and equipment.

Ability to produce statistical reports and make mathematical computations accurately.

Ability to operate a personal computer and various office equipment.

Basic knowledge of computer operations and data entry.

Ability to perform work requiring moderate physical exertion.

Ability to communicate with vendors, employees in other departments and the general public.
