Job Description
|
|
Performs administrative, managerial, and supervisory work involving the planning, organizing, and management of all stormwater-related
activities in the Streets & Stormwater Services Division. Responsibilities include the accurate maintenance of the database used to support
the billing system for the stormwater utility enterprise fund; collection and maintenance of lake water quality data for all City lakes; monitoring
and compliance with environmental codes and regulations for public and private activities; implementation of public awareness and
education programs; research on stormwater management alternatives; supervision of construction activities undertaken by the Division’s
stormwater construction forces; supervision of storm sewer inspection and maintenance programs; and supervision of the surface water
maintenance program to include the street sweeping section. Supervision of compliance program and Keep Orlando Beautiful program. Set on Keep Orlando Beautiful advisory board for 501 C Supervise GIS Application Developer. Work is performed under the direction of the Streets and Stormwater Division Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Water Resources (or Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or Limnology) plus five (5) years experience in the planning, design, and maintenance of storm drainage systems, to include at least two (2) years experience in a supervisory or management capacity; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience in aquatics, lakeshore management, lake management, and storm system construction and maintenance highly desired.

Manages the street sweeping section, ensuring its smooth operation. Oversee compliance with the Keep Orlando Beautiful program. Direct the supervision of the GIS Application Developer.
Carries out city requirements for training to insure all staff completes required training for example cyber training and safety trainings.
Manages projects to ensure internal and external staff meet to complete projects such as the stormwater rate study.
Reviews the work order system and provide suggestions for improvement to ensure asset management capabilities.
Enables Program Mangers to make informed budget decisions by meeting with them on a regular basics.
Ensures adequate staffing levels are maintained for operation coverage.
Implements disciplinary actions including termination from Labor Relations Office.
Responds to calls and emails from the commissioner’s office regarding citizen concerns.
Assists with facility maintenance work orders to ensure maintenance is upheld on office spaces.
Serves as the city representative for the Street and Stormwater Division on the union negotiation board. Serves as city representative for Streets and Stormwater Division at job fairs organized by our Human Resources Division.
Collaborates closely with our Fleet Division to ensure the proper installation of cameras are installed in all vehicles and perform effectively. Monitors triggered events from camera software to ensure compliance with safety procedures.
Participates in hurricane ride out crew to assist in hurricane preparation and post storm cleanup efforts, including monitoring and reporting as required for FEMA.
Oversees Stormwater Program, KOB program, Stormwater Compliance Program. Ensures that the programs meet the NPDES requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
