Job Description
|
|
Provides paraprofessional and system support to Economic Development Information Systems (EDIS) administrative functions. Coordinates projects that involve multiple functional areas. Assists in the streamlining, documentation, and testing processes. Trains staff and assists field personnel in initiation of transactions and other system issues. Assists in the creation and revision of departmental policies and procedures for EDIS. Work is performed under the general supervision of the EDIS Administrator and is reviewed through discussions, reports submitted, and independent audits.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Planning, Construction Science, or Computer Science and three (3) years experience related to permitting, planning, code enforcement, and related work; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Significant experience in permitting systems such as ProjectDox and Infor Public Sector, including training staff on both systems, is desired.

Responsibilities

Supports the EDV team responsible for maintaining the Economic Development database.
Assists in training relating to the processing of Economic Development transactions, including permitting, planning, and plans review.
Assists the EDIS Administrator in testing new system releases, changes in business processes, etc.
Coordinates the development/updating of EDIS related documentation.
Coordinates activities involved in the monitoring and manintenance of the EDIS software, including permit issuance, BTR renewals, and digital plans review.
Develops and updates related documentation and procedures.
Audits data to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
Develops reports in response to internal and external requests and when needed by other EDV staff.
Provides basic system training to support staff.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of Permitting and Planning business flow.
Knowledge of Florida Public Records Law.
Knowledge of Permitting functions.
Knowledge of Federal and State regulations that impact Permitting Services.
Skilled in the use of computers, Microsoft business applications and Economic Development Information Systems software.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to train others.
Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
