Job Description
|
|
Provides lead direction to storeroom staff involved in the receipt and storage of a large variety of supplies, materials, and equipment. Procures supplies and materials. Ensures requisitions are processed and documented appropriately for proper billing. Reconciles materials and financial documents. Performs inventory management work. Prepares and reviews periodic reports. Resolves issues and performs other duties as assigned.
Note: This position is authorized to commit up to $10,000 per invoice for purchasing stock for the City of Orlando’s Central Store.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience performing storekeeping, purchasing, or inventory control; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Forklift certification must be obtained within six (6) months of hire date.

Provides lead direction on an on-going basis to lower level staff in the City's Central Store; schedules, trains, guides, and reviews work; researches and resolves issues; assists supervisor with planning, organizing, and other administrative work as necessary.
Performs inventory control work, ensures maintenance of perpetual inventory and special inventory; prepares and reviews inventory reports and logs; verifies documents and reconciles financial records, accounting and billing reports; makes adjustments or takes other appropriate action..
Purchases a large variety of supplies, materials, and equipment for the City's Central Store with authority to commit up to $5,000 per invoice; confers with vendors regarding quotes, prices, and other shipment matters; negotiates prices and coordinates delivery; handles back orders, incorrect shipments, and other related matters.
Reviews, verifies and reconciles a variety of financial documents related to materials issued and received, billing activities, and inventory control such as packing slips, purchase orders, requisitions, invoices, billing accounts, and other fiscal matters; correct errors as appropriate or makes recommendation for supervisor to take action.
Participates in storeroom activities including assisting customers with requisitions, receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials, and equipment; prepares and updates logs and records.
Participates in taking physical inventory including annual, quarterly, and monthly cycles; assists with scheduling, organizing, and reviewing results of inventory count; prepares periodic reports as necessary. .
Performs a variety of administrative work including preparing reports, filing, and record keeping.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Considerable knowledge of storekeeping and inventory control methods, procedures, and processes.
Knowledge of math to interpret purchasing, billing, and fiscal matters.
Communication skills necessary to provide direction, assist customers, process orders, and resolve discrepancies.
Computer skills necessary to operate inventory management database and other office applications.
Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
Ability to purchasing supplies, materials, and equipment per City and department policy.
Ability to lead, train, schedule, and resolve issues.
Ability to use computer such as to enter information regarding stocks disburses and maintain accurate perpetual inventory records.
Ability to perform administrative work, prepare accurate reports, and maintain accurate records.
Ability to provide good customer service.
Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with others including customers.
Ability to work in a warehouse and perform manual work such as shipping, receiving, and issuing supplies.
Ability to operate a fork lift and motor vehicle.
